In a most awaited decision, the government has extended the deadline for Golden Visa Greece by two months for property contact completion. Previously, the government set 31st December 2024 as the last day. The extension aims to entertain 3000 Golden Visa applications with an estimated value of €750 million.

Who will Benefit from Golden Visa Greece Deadline Extension?

The Golden Visa Greece deadline is beneficial for applicants who deposited the minimum 10% amount of qualifying investment before 31st August 2024. The Greece parliament has also approved this measure to safeguard those investors who had signed the agreements but their applications are pending due to administrative delays.

This means, the qualifying investment threshold for investors who paid 10% and have signed the agreements will qualify for €250,000 investment threshold. So, there’s no Golden Visa application cancelation and no potential legal litigation.

Impact of Golden Visa Greece Price Rise

In March 2024, Greece government raised the investment threshold to €8,00,000 for its Golden Visa program. This resulted in increase of Golden Visa application by many folds. The data shows that Golden Visa applications backlog grew to massive 31,000 and processing time to 18 months.

€400,000 Real Estate Investment

An investment of €400,000 in real estate for regions except Attica include the regional units of Thessaloniki, Santorini, Mykonos, and Islands with a population of 3100 or more residents.

€800,000 Real Estate Investment

The minimum qualifying threshold to buy property in high-demand regions is €800,000 or more. The areas include Attica, Thessaloniki, Santorini, Mykonos, and Islands of Greece  with a population of 3100 or more people.

€250,000 Investment in Greece Starts Ups

The government of Greece announced new investment option for entrepreneurs that grants Greece residency. Though not officially announced, the investment threshold as reported by Schengen News is €250,000.
